Change was in the air at the latest District 203 Board of Education meeting.
During new business, Board Vice President Suzyn Price announced her resignation, effective June 1, 2016. She referenced the board’s internal conflicts and a desire to have new energy on the board as some of the reasons for her departure.
“I am entirely grateful for this experience. I’ve had the enormous pleasure working with extraordinary educators, administrators, parents, community members and students and i look forward to continuing that work for the next two months and in other capacities later on,” said Price.
Price was first elected in 2003 and is currently serving in her fourth term. The board will now begin the process to fill her vacancy.
Also announced at the meeting was the appointment of Bob Ross as the district’s Chief Operating Officer.
Ross currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education in 203, a position he has held since 2012.
“I’m very proud to work for District 203, when I tell people where I work it’s a very easy thing to say and something I’m very proud of and I want to say thank you very much,” said Ross.
Ross will begin this new role on July 1, 2016.
